Dr Phillip Lawrence

Dr Phillip Lawrence holds a PhD from the University of Sydney in International Relations, a Master of Management from the University of Technology Sydney and is currently completing a Master of International Law at the University of Sydney, specialising in corporate law, governance and ethics in the global business environment.

His academic journey began after a 40-year career in international business, working with some of the world’s largest and oldest firms in Europe, North America and Asia. In his business role in senior management, Phillip was a conference speaker presenting complex technical concepts to audiences around the world.

Phillip has owned and operated several business start-ups, being involved in conception through transition through acquisition. At the Boston Graphic Arts Conference in 2000, he was introduced as the owner of the ‘world’s most innovative company’. He is currently a founder, IP owner and director of Filsen, an innovative polymer technology firm in Sydney engaged with several international groups in Germany, Switzerland, the USA and Japan. The business has received a number of government grants. The company’s technology has been noted by the Australian government as a transformation change in polymer science.

Phillip teaches several subject areas at Crown, including Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He enjoys engaging with his students as adults who are keen to build their knowledge and business skills.
