Dr. Yuk Lan Edith Leung

Senior Lecturer, Early Childhood Education

Dr. Yuk Lan Edith Leung holds a Doctor of Education in Organisational Leadership and Communication from Northeastern University in the United States, a Master of Early Childhood from Macquarie University, a Bachelor of Education Studies (Early Childhood) from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia, and a Certificate of Qualified Kindergarten Teacher from Grantham College of Education in Hong Kong.

Dr. Leung has over 20 years of experience in higher education. Since 2002, she has served as a Teaching Fellow and was later promoted to Senior Lecturer in the Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). From 2007 to 2009, she was seconded to serve as Principal of the laboratory kindergarten at the EdUHK HSBC Early Childhood Learning Centre.

Her research specialties include curriculum and pedagogy, sustainability, professional development, and leadership in Early Childhood Education. She has been actively involved in a government-funded partnership project commissioned by the Hong Kong Education Bureau, aimed at supporting preschools and kindergartens in enhancing their school-based curriculum. She has also participated in international educational exchange activities in countries including China, Finland, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and the United States.

Dr. Leung has served as a Guest Editor for Education Sciences (ISSN 2227-7102), a Reviewer for Frontiers in Psychology, and an External Examiner for various higher education programmes. She is currently engaged as an editor for a book project with the publisher Springer Nature.

In addition, she serves as a school advisor for a kindergarten organization in Hong Kong and has been a senior curriculum consultant for Design for Change Hong Kong (DFCHK) for over 10 years. The Design for Change movement has been recognized by Dr. Howard Gardner since 2017.
