Dr. Madhumita Takalkar is a lecturer at the Crown Institute of Higher Education, within the School of Information Tech
nology. She holds a PhD in Computer Systems from the University of Technology Sydney, along with a Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology.
With over 13 years of teaching experience, Dr. Takalkar is known for her engaging and dynamic approach to education. Her research interests lie in the cutting-edge fields of Computer Vision and Deep Learning. Her PhD dissertation, titled “Deciphering True Emotions: Micro-Expression Detection and Recognition using Deep Nets,” explores the intricate world of micro-expressions and presents innovative solutions to enhance detection and recognition accuracy.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education, Dr. Takalkar was honored with the Teaching Excellence Award in 2023. At the Crown Institute of Higher Education, she teaches a variety of courses including Programming for Bachelor and Master students, Introduction to IT, Cloud Computing, and Databases.
Dr. Takalkar is always eager and proactive in making the learning experience both enjoyable and exciting for her students. Her passion for teaching and dedication to student success are evident in her commitment to creating an inspiring learning environment.
