Procedural Fairness
‘Procedural Fairness’ ensures that a standard of fairness is applied in the investigation and resolution of a dispute. The process involves fully informing a person of any allegation made against them and providing an opportunity for response and to state their viewpoint. The process includes comprehensive investigation of the allegations and consideration of any relevant submissions. Underlying the process is the principle of acting fairly, impartially and without bias by declaring any real or potential conflict of interest and reaching decisions on that basis.
